Geneviève Gilbert, President and Executive Director

Geneviève is a sex trade survivor and Founder of Pink Cross Australia.  She is also a visual artist (B.A. Visual Arts, Artistic Practice, Université du Québec à Montréal, 1998), activist and filmmaker.

In 2001 she moved from French-Canada (Québec) to Australia and obtained a Graduate Diploma in Multimedia from Monash University.  She also holds a Master's of Communication (M.A., 2010), Interactive Multimedia from UQAM.  In 2011 she won an 'Award of Merit: Experimental' for her short 'Osteo' from the Indie Fest in La Jolla, California.

Her practice includes relational art and human-computer interaction projects. From paintings to video art and performance pieces, she now develops her ideas based on community relationships.  Social justice, compassion and inclusiveness have become prominent issues in all her work.  Connecting with and bringing support to workers and consumers in the adult entertainment industry as well as trafficked women is now central to her personal aims and her own artistic, spiritual and practical activism.
