Description

The Pink Cross Foundation Australia Inc connects with, supports and educates people who have been trafficked for the purpose of sexual slavery, those who are trapped in a cycle of sexual exploitation and individuals seeking to transition out of the sex industry. We aim to empower women and men and assist them in challenging gendered and structural issues, which perpetuate the violation of their human rights.

Our vision is to see a world free of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE), abuse and addiction. We aim to bring hope and restoration to those who have experienced sexual exploitation, abuse and addiction.

We use a compassionate, non-judgmental, trauma-informed approach that reinforces the principles of human dignity and justice for all, so all may flourish and lead a safe, full and rewarding life.

The principal purpose for which the Company is established is to offer emotional and transitional support to people who are victims of trafficking for the purpose of sexual slavery or those involved in the sex industry. In particular, support is offered to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness and/or with life-controlling drug and alcohol misuse.

These can be generated or enabled by poverty from exiting the sex industry, physical and/or mental illness, emotional distress, social difficulties or other forms of hardship. The secondary purpose for which the Company is established is to offer online and telecommunication support to viewers of pornography or buyers of sexual services. We provide this support through education, advocacy and referrals.

The Company seeks to achieve these purposes through the following objects:

a)  To connect with individuals who may face shame and stigma in the sex industry and provide them with access to safe support programs to achieve well-being.

 b)  To work with the justice system and law enforcement agencies to protect those affected by CSE.

 c)  To support and empower women and men to be free CSE, abuse and addictions.

 d)  In particular, to outreach to those who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness, and those with life-controlling drug and alcohol misuse issues. We provide referrals to people in need of relief, where appropriate, and where the Company cannot meet such needs.

 e)  To provide material support, including food, toiletry bags and gift packs, to people in prostitution and other adult entertainment industries through intakes and outreach visits.

 f)  To aid sufferers through education, rehabilitation and safe social inclusion events.

 g)  To mentor sufferers seeking support, to help them establish and achieve goals and encourage life skills education.

 h)  To educate about gendered and structural issues people face, challenging known factors perpetuating cycles of addition and oppression.

 i)  To provide intensive, strength-based case-management and related services to victims of trafficking, people in prostitution or in other adult entertainment industries, would they be distressed and in need of such relief.

 j)  To provide such other forms of benevolent assistance to those affected by the stigma related to prostitution, as the Company may deem appropriate from time to time.
